Drafter

Actalent Engineering is seeking qualified candidates for a Drafter opening that open with a steel fabricator that located in Columbia, PA. This person will be responsible for utilizing 2D and 3D CAD software programs to create and modify models and documents including submittal, fabrication and installation drawings from various sources.

Below is a a summary of responsibilities for this position:

• Prepare assembly and part drawings for fabrication or components
• Develop cut lists and bills of material for assembly
• Collaborate with managers, sales department, and other drafters on projects
• Serve as technical support marketing, sales, fabrication and installation personnel as needed
• Utilize technical manuals and directives to ensure compliance with codes, company policies and quality standards
• Review drawings and parts lists for completeness and accuracy, ensuring basic integrity of designs, layouts and compliance with regulations and engineering principles
• Present created drawings to customers and communicate opportunities for alteration as it relates to design for manufacturability (DFM)
• Create manufacturing drawings for fabricators to cut, weld and assemble said systems components

Below is a summary of requirements for qualified candidates:

• Ability to read and understand CAD drawings
• Proficiency using AutoCAD or another 2D CAD software
• Competency in working in imperial and metric systems

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, PA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
