Description:
A large utility company is hiring a Distribution Systems Operator. This person will be in their control center monitoring a region of the power grid in GA. They will try to assist from the control center with troubleshooting, outages and storm restoration. The will also dispatch teams to resolve physical issues in the field.
Today's power distribution control center manages the day-to-day operation of distribution network to ensure uninterrupted power supplies to customers.
The Distribution System Control Center Operator is responsible for monitoring, operating, controlling and maintaining the integrity of the electrical distribution system following prescribed procedures.
The operator will have challenges in hand to perform real-time monitoring, analysis and control in Smart Grid control center environment.
The Smart Grid control center will have advance systems and applications for monitoring and operations which will help the system operators to deliver power efficiently, reliably and safely. In an integrated (OT, IT and support system integration) Smart Grid eco-system the utility control center operators shall have one consolidated environment to view a complete picture of current network conditions. This will help him to quickly analyze and respond to the situations.
Starting out - Monday through Thursday, 10 hour days. 7am-4pm - Subject to change.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
This role is one that requires a lot of training, which is paid training. There will be shadowing sessions and training courses.
To apply you must have:
Either a technical associates degree or a Bachelors degree.
Prior technical experience or customer service experience.
This role will allow you to gain an entirely new skill set and career path within the Utility industry.
Starting out in training you will be paid hourly, 40 hours a week with occasional overtime. There are benefits through BlueCross BlueShield (medical, vision, dental). They will also be paid holidays off.
