As a Development Engineer specializing in seating, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and resolving production and field issues. Your expertise will support the understanding and correction of Bill of Materials (BoM) issues and updates, as well as provide solutions for functional and electrical engineering (EE) concerns. You will be responsible for preparing and executing engineering changes, finding part substitutions, and developing short-term deviation solutions. Additionally, you will prepare documentation for meetings and handle miscellaneous tasks such as writing purchase requisitions and orders.
Responsibilities- Support the analysis and understanding of production and field issues.
- Correct BoM issues and updates.
- Analyze and find countermeasures for functional and EE issues.
- Prepare and execute engineering changes, including issuing EC, KEM, and Smaragd updates.
- Find part substitutions and short-term deviation solutions, and create and drive PDR.
- Manage fasteners topics and prepare documentation for meetings.
- Handle miscellaneous tasks such as writing purchase requisitions and orders.
- Expertise in parts development and liaison engineering.
- Experience in supplier development and automotive seating.
- Proficiency in VDA standards, engineering change management, and BoM.
- Strong project management and supplier quality skills.
- Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in automotive seating.
- 5-10 years of automotive seating engineering experience.
- Experience with plastic trims/covers (mainly BR 167), rim covers, and foams.
- Ability to support structure changes, with the main lead being another team in Germany.
This position is based in a Mercedes engineering office, offering a professional and collaborative environment. You will have access to advanced technologies and resources to support your engineering tasks.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $59.00 - $59.00/hr.
