Job Title: Civil Designer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Civil Designer to join our Raleigh office. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of project experience within the civil or transportation industry and will be proficient in CADD modeling and civil site development.

Responsibilities

• Transform initial rough designs/sketches and redlines/mark-ups into finished graphics/construction documents.
• Perform 2D & 3D CADD modeling.
• Conduct civil site/structural detailing and plan layout.

Essential Skills

• Working knowledge of civil site development, including grading, surfaces, volume calculations, sections, profiles, corridors, alignments, and quantity takeoffs.
• 5 years of progressive AutoCADD experience.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Attention to detail.
• Understanding and application of CAD standards.
• Sound knowledge of engineering design principles and construction methods.
• Good analytical thinking, numeracy, computer, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel preferred.
• Ability to meet deadlines while performing under pressure.
• Experience working in a dynamic environment with multiple project responsibilities.
• Ability to understand and complete projects with minimal supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil design and drafting.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D.
• BS or AS degree preferred; 5 years of recent experience required if the degree is not held.
• Experience in transportation design via Microstation preferred.
• Experience with ArcGIS is a strong plus.

Work Environment

The individual will be working out of the Raleigh, NC office, located on the north side of town near Falls of Neuse.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $40.00/hr.
