Job Description

This company proudly manufactures seats and interior components for cars, motorcycles, and recreational vehicles. They have facilities in Ohio, Alabama, Nebraska, Texas, Indiana, Canada, Brazil, and Mexico, with a team of over 7,000 associates. Their Indiana facility, located in New Castle, focuses on seat manufacturing and assembly, employing around 600 individuals across all departments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with managing machinery and equipment installations, preventative maintenance, and repairs and upgrades to ensure company operating and cost efficiencies.
• Troubleshoot existing control systems to achieve production standards.
• Ensure all plant upgrades and installation of equipment are completed according to schedule.
• Work cross-functionally with maintenance and production/project engineering teams.
• Participate in discussions regarding improvements and capital upgrades.

Essential Skills

• A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in automation, with a strong focus on control systems and industrial automation.
• Proficiency in making minor edits and modifications to PLCs.
• Experience with vision systems, including the use of bar code readers and laser sensors.

Work Environment

The facility employs 597 individuals and operates as a 3-shift automotive seat manufacturer. Most of the machines are robotic welders as the seats are all steel, with over 15 lines in total. The facility is very clean, quiet, and climate controlled. This role is for the A shift, which starts at 5:30 AM and ends at 5:30 PM, following a 2-2-3 schedule. The Controls Technician team consists of 2 full-time and 2 contract members. Uniforms are provided and paid for by the company.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.50 - $33.50/hr.
