Controls Engineer - Entry Level

Job Title: Controls Engineer - ENTRY LEVEL

Job Description

The Controls Engineer will leverage a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles and computer skills to install, repair, and maintain protection and control systems. These systems may include microprocessor relays, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, pumps, and motors.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot protection and control relaying and associated devices.
• Perform calibration of various types of protection and control relays and devices.
• Assist in creating and maintaining protection and control documentation.
• Support the assigned project lead with field assignments.
• Install, program, and maintain protection and control relays and devices.
• Participate in process hazard analyses.
• Stay updated on current industry trends and practices.

Essential Skills

• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles.
• Proficiency in computer skills.
• PLC programming expertise.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical preferred).
• 0 - 3 years of related experience in engineering or a similar role.
• Working knowledge of PLCs and HMIs.
• Experience with AC and DC systems.
• Successful candidates must live within a reasonable commute to the assigned office location.

Work Environment

The position is based in Hueytown AL

This is a Contract position based out of Birmingham, AL.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.
