Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician

Be the person who proves it’s built right.

You’ll be on active job sites testing materials and verifying work meets plans/specs — the results you capture help keep projects safe, compliant, and moving. If you like field work, variety, and being the “go-to” for quality, you’ll like this role.

What you’ll do (the good stuff)

• Test materials in the field: soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry (and more)
• Inspect active construction work for compliance with plans/specs
• Run more complex tests, capture accurate data, and document observations
• Write clear field reports (timely detailed)
• Communicate results with contractors, clients, engineers, and PMs
• Help guide other technicians when needed

What you need to have

• 2 years in construction materials testing (or closely related)
• Hands-on experience with soil/concrete/asphalt/masonry testing & inspection
• Ability to read plans/specs and follow testing procedures
• Strong attention to detail solid documentation/report writing
• Valid driver’s license safe driving record

Certifications (required to maintain)

• ACI Level I Concrete OR
• ICC certs in soils / reinforced concrete / masonry

Field reality (transparent)

• Daily travel to job sites using a company vehicle
• Outdoor work in changing weather active construction environments
• Lift/carry/push/pull equipment/materials up to 70 lbs regularly
• Uses company phone/tablet for reporting communication
• Pre-employment screening required (background, drug, driving record)

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Charlotte,NC.
