Job Title: Metrologist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Metrologist/CNC Programmer to join our team. This role involves creating and managing inspection programs using Zeiss Calypso software, transitioning dimensional inspection plans from Excel to PiWeb, and collaborating closely with engineering departments. You will play a crucial role in supporting a large aerospace manufacturer.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement inspection programs using Zeiss Calypso software from Model Based Definition and 2D drawings.
- Create and import dimensional inspection plans into PiWeb, transitioning existing plans from Excel files.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to analyze and interpret blueprints, models, evaluation sheets, manuals, and other documents to determine specific testing procedures and certification methods.
- Work with Zeiss to facilitate PiWeb processes, including debugging and coding as necessary.
- Read and understand complex mechanical drawings and 3D models.
- Engage closely with engineering departments to address related issues.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in metrology and Zeiss Calypso software.
- Experience with CMM, PiWeb, calipers, micrometers, surface gauges, and height gauges.
- Ability to read and understand complex mechanical drawings and 3D models.
- Experience working with large aerospace manufacturers is beneficial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
Work Environment
This position requires working onsite on the production floor, where you will measure equipment and work cross-functionally with all manufacturing teams.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jupiter, Florida.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
