Clinical Supply Chain Consultant
Job Description
This role requires strategic leadership in developing and optimizing global supply chain strategies for clinical programs involving small molecules and biologics. The position involves managing supply chain aspects from clinical supply to commercial supply, transitioning drug products from development to commercialization, and collaborating across various functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize global supply chain strategies for clinical programs, ensuring alignment with development plans, regulatory needs, and corporate objectives.
- Oversee clinical supply management, including demand forecasting, packaging, labeling, distribution, returns, and destruction for global trials.
- Strategically plan and execute comparator sourcing, ensuring quality and timely delivery for clinical trials.
- Manage commercial supply planning, launch readiness, manufacturing coordination, inventory, warehousing, and distribution.
- Lead the transition of drug products from clinical development to commercial supply, managing tech transfer and scale-up.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integrated execution across the product lifecycle.
- Select, qualify, and manage third-party vendors, CMOs, and CDMOs for clinical packaging/labeling and commercial manufacturing.
- Lead accurate forecasting and planning for clinical and commercial supply needs.
- Identify supply chain risks and develop strategies to ensure uninterrupted supply.
- Ensure compliance with global GMP, GDP, GCP, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in supply chain processes, implementing best practices and new technologies.
- Develop and manage the supply chain budget, tracking expenditures and identifying cost efficiencies.
- Maintain meticulous documentation and record-keeping for supply chain activities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10 years of progressive experience in pharma/biotech supply chain management.
- Expertise in managing clinical and commercial supply chains across all phases of development and commercialization.
- Experience in comparator sourcing and management for global clinical trials.
- In-depth knowledge of global pharma supply chain regulations.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $110.00/hr.
