Job Title: Clinical Mass Spectrometry Technician

Job Description

Perform analyses on blood, tissue, and body fluids to aid health care providers in the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of patients. Testing is conducted in specialized laboratories and may involve highly skilled manual techniques or automated testing using sophisticated instrumentation. Responsibilities include instrument operation and maintenance, troubleshooting assays, evaluating tests for accuracy, assisting with interpreting results, and providing operational support to optimize testing. Work with multiple computer systems to retrieve information and report results. Adhere to safety protocols to handle infectious specimens, chemicals, and other hazards.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and assay systems.
• Troubleshoot assays and evaluate tests for accuracy.
• Assist with interpreting test results.
• Provide operational support to optimize testing processes.
• Work with computer systems to retrieve information and report results.
• Adhere to safety protocols when handling infectious specimens, chemicals, and other hazards.
• Produce accurate results under time constraints in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a human biological science (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Animal Science, Marine Biology, Neuroscience).
• Preferred degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry.
• Experience with instrumentation (GC, LC, HPLC, MS) preferred.
• Experience with laboratory practices in college, research, or clinical settings is a plus but not required.
• Master's degree accepted

Pay Rate: $25/hr

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
