Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team. This role involves working on substation projects, focusing on structural analysis and foundation design. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of MAT, PIER, and drilled shaft foundation designs and will utilize RISA software for analysis.
Responsibilities
- Conduct substation equipment foundation analysis and design.
- Perform take-offs for structures.
- Design oil containment systems.
- Design fire walls using concrete or masonry.
- Develop structural bus arrangements.
- Create substation layout designs.
- Analyze and design MAT foundations, pier foundations, and drilled shaft foundations.
- Coordinate design documents.
- Collaborate with substation and related equipment teams.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 5 years experience in utilities, specifically in substation projects.
- Proficient in structural analysis for substation projects.
- Strong understanding of equipment foundation design, including MAT, PIER, and drilled shaft.
- Experience with RISA software.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- EIT or PE certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in industrial backgrounds such as pipe racking, oil and gas, or other industrial projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and RAM software.
Work Environment
The position offers a hybrid work schedule, with three days per week in the office. The remaining two days can be worked remotely from home. The office environment includes a personal cubicle space. For candidates with longer commutes, there is an option to stay overnight in a hotel during the week. Join a supportive team including two drafters to collaborate and hand off work.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $64.90 - $72.11/hr.
