Responsibilities

• Design and oversee site layout, grading, stormwater/drainage, infrastructure, erosion, and sediment control from concept through completion.
• Identify project opportunities with existing clients or new potential clients and communicate scope in proposals or contracts.
• Conduct stormwater management design/reports, hydraulic and hydrology analysis.
• Manage site/civil project workflow, including plan production, permits/approvals, client interaction, and project billing.
• Maintain understanding of local and state agency requirements.
• Meet with clients, project team members, government agencies, and contractors as necessary.
• Coordinate with permit and entitlement manager for site-related permits and ensure project closeout.
• Train and mentor fellow civil designers and interns.
• Perform QA/QC review on civil plans and reports.
• Maintain and build client relationships.
• Apply time management, team management, and organizational skills to drive project profitability.
• Travel as dictated by projects, clients, and company functions, representing the firm in all aspects.
• Participate in local professional society.
• Engage in community service activities and understand implications of involvement.

Essential Skills

• Project management experience.
• Civil engineering expertise.
• Site development capabilities..
• Proficiency in civil design.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or significant experience in the civil engineering field.
• 8 years of site/civil experience.
• Professional Engineering license in Alabama.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D and stormwater software programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to make design decisions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in another engineering discipline with significant civil engineering experience.
• Evidence of growth and leadership in the current role.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
