Civil Engineer

The Civil Engineer will specialize in site development for commercial, municipal, and industrial projects. This role involves working collaboratively with both the design team and project management. Projects will encompass commercial, retail, hospitality, multifamily, mixed-use, and public sites.

Responsibilities

• Design sites using Civil3D.
• Manage site and storm water systems, including calculations.
• Assist Senior Engineers with calculations and project-related tasks.
• Create preliminary sketches and final design for site development, securing municipal and agency approvals.
• Design utility systems for storm, sanitary sewer, and drinking water.
• Manage and calculate storm water systems, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Design drainage systems for collection, treatment, and discharge for various projects.
• Prepare as-built drawings to verify constructed elements meet design requirements.
• Evaluate and design condominium and subdivision plans considering topographical, environmental, and aesthetic factors.
• Layout and design sites to maximize property yield while minimizing necessary infrastructure.
• Secure government agency approvals and permits.

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience in civil engineering and site planning.
• Proficient in Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
• Experience in site development, land development, and project management.
• Knowledgeable in stormwater management and drainage design.
• EIT certification working towards PE License or currently licensed.

• PE License is a plus.
• Multiple years of experience with a Civil Engineering firm specializing in site development.

The consultant will work primarily in the Lansing office, with occasional visits to project sites located in the greater Lansing area.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Haslett, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $41.00/hr.
