Job Description

Collaborate on roadway and transportation design projects for various organizations, including Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT), Illinois Tollway, and local municipalities. Develop innovative, technically sound design solutions that meet project requirements and comply with applicable codes and standards. Utilize design software tools, with preference for experience in MicroStation CONNECT Edition and OpenRoads Designer. Work proactively and independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment. Apply problem-solving skills to deliver high-quality designs within established timelines.

Responsibilities

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0–3 years of design experience in a consulting engineering environment.
• Proficiency in MicroStation, including CONNECT Edition and OpenRoads Designer.
• Strong analytical abilities with knowledge of engineering analysis methods.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with IDOT or Illinois Tollway design standards, procedures, and specifications preferred.
• Understanding of multidisciplinary design and how various elements interconnect.

Work Environment

The office is located in downtown West Loop, offering convenient transportation access. The individual can expect to work 40 hours a week, with a half-day on Fridays. The company offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office presence on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The transportation team comprises 10 members, and the office environment is described as fun and light-hearted, yet hardworking. This is a Permanent position based out of Chicago, IL.

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
