Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Chemist to join our laboratory team. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness of the laboratory, performing various chemical analyses, and supporting the quality assurance process. As a Chemist, you will have the opportunity to grow within a small, close-knit team while enjoying the benefits of being part of a larger organization.

Responsibilities

• Clean the laboratory by emptying trash, wiping countertops, cleaning sinks, sweeping, and mopping floors.
• Clean scales, hoods, and the refrigerator on a weekly basis.
• Review laboratory notebooks of fellow chemists promptly.
• Perform wet chemical and instrumental analysis of blends using established methods.
• Conduct microbial plate count testing as needed.
• Review, approve, and interpret data before reporting to Quality Assurance.
• Maintain laboratory notebooks and other documentation accurately.
• Assist in creating and reviewing reformulation calculations before submission to production.
• Support Quality Assurance with paperwork, forms, and standard operating procedures.
• Complete weekly inventory of analytical standards, solvents, pH buffers, and microbial plates.
• Assist with annual preventive maintenance of laboratory instruments.
• Coordinate with the deionized water equipment supplier for service and repairs.

Essential Skills

• 0-2 years of experience in a chemistry laboratory.
• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Biology, or equivalent lab experience.
• Experience with routine lab and analytical operations.
• Knowledge of GC and HPLC preferred.
• Understanding of algebraic calculations and weights and measurements.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elwood, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
