Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. This role involves rooming patients, recording vital signs, and documenting medical history in the EMR system. You will also be responsible for managing referrals and stocking treatment rooms. This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced oncology setting, where you will support patient care and assist healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Room patients efficiently and effectively.
- Record patient vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
- Document patient medical and family history in the EMR system.
- Relay the chief complaint to the nurse or doctor.
- Handle referrals and FMLA paperwork as needed.
- Stock exam and treatment rooms and order supplies.
- 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Proficiency in oncology medical assisting.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Experience with medical terminology, phlebotomy, and EMR/EHR systems.
- Ability to room 18-20 patients per day.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is required.
- Outpatient experience is a plus.
- Ability to take manual blood pressure as needed.
This role operates in a fast-paced oncology clinic. Working hours are 8:15 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with no weekend shifts. The clinic promotes a strong culture with team-building exercises, holiday celebrations, and an open-door policy. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
