Job Title: CAD Drafter

Job Description

A leading A/E consulting firm is seeking a qualified CAD Drafter with expertise in AutoCAD – MEP software. The successful candidate will develop and design drawings in collaboration with Design Engineers for water and wastewater projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop design drawings in coordination with Design Engineers for water and wastewater projects.
• Set up drawings according to established CAD standards.
• Coordinate with the CAD requirements of clients.
• Draft mechanical and electrical drawings, including process piping, electrical distribution, and control for water and wastewater projects (70% Electrical design, 30% Mechanical design).
• Conduct field validation of the drawings alongside the Design Engineer.

Essential Skills

• 3-5 years of MEP experience within an AE firm.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• At least 2 year of working experience with Revit.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with MicroStation.
• Knowledge of wastewater design and engineering.
• Understanding of plumbing and fire protection systems.

Work Environment

The Warren office accommodates 21 employees and operates from 8 am to 4:30 pm, with a business casual dress code. The workplace culture is family-like, featuring bi-monthly employee lunches, potlucks, a 4th of July BBQ, and a Christmas party. Every summer, the President hosts a BBQ for all employees. The company values long-term employment, with 25 out of 50 employees having over 15 years of tenure. Opportunities for learning and growth are abundant, with 14 of 50 employees being Licensed Professional Engineers (PEs).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warren, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $34.00/hr.
