Job Title: Distribution Designer

Job Description

This position involves providing distribution design for both overhead and underground electric distribution systems ranging from 4kV to 69kV. The role includes designing activities, conducting quality reviews, monitoring and maintaining project schedules, reporting changes that affect schedules and budgets, identifying risks that may affect schedule and costs, and presenting opportunities to improve the design and construction of distribution projects.

Responsibilities

• Design overhead and underground distribution facilities.
• Prepare design sketches, drawings, cost estimates, bills of material, and other required documents for construction.
• Apply standards, guidelines, specifications, practices, procedures, and industry standards in preparing the design of electric distribution facilities.
• Perform distribution system design calculations.
• Prepare and oversee preparation of design documents for construction, including plan and profiles, structure loadings, design details, trench and conduit drawings, and equipment specifications.
• Communicate with engineers on system requirements and identify Right of Way for proposed equipment.
• Acquire field data as necessary and work with field surveying to prepare appropriate design.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in drafting and design using Microstation or AutoCAD.
• Experience in piping design, drafting, and CAD.
• Traffic control drafting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate degree in applied science (AAS) in drafting and computer-aided (CAD) design or in civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering technology.
• Equivalent experience and/or education.

Work Environment

This is a 100% remote position, offering the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in teams. The role features a flexible working schedule.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
