The CAD Designer is responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining accurate construction drawings and plan sets for residential homes within the company's product portfolio. This role supports job-specific drawings and plan revisions, ensuring that all drawings are accurate, buildable, and compliant with local building codes.
Responsibilities- Prepare and revise complete sets of construction drawings for site-specific homes.
- Update drawings to reflect as-built conditions, field changes, and redline revisions.
- Coordinate with engineers and internal departments to ensure accuracy and consistency across plans.
- Incorporate markups from estimating, construction, and purchasing to align drawings with material and cost standards.
- Ensure all drawings meet company drafting standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and organize CAD files, templates, and plan archives for version control and easy access.
- Communicate effectively with field teams to resolve drawing-related issues or clarifications.
- Assist in implementing drafting and document control improvements to streamline workflow.
- 2 years of design experience
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
- Familiarity with residential construction methods, materials, and building codes
- Experience in residential design
- Knowledge of construction document preparation
