Audio Lab Engineer - MEMS

We are seeking an Audio Lab Engineer or Technician to support a New Technology Investigation project. In this role, you will evaluate and validate emerging audio technologies through measurement, testing, and analysis. You will work hands-on in the lab using Soundcheck and other audio test systems to execute experiments, analyze data, and communicate results to internal stakeholders and external technology vendors. This position will play a key role in early-stage technology evaluation, supporting innovation and advancing the next generation of audio products.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct a series of audio tests and experiments to evaluate new technologies.
• Operate and maintain audio test systems and related measurement tools.
• Troubleshoot and debug audio circuits and systems using digital oscilloscopes and other diagnostic instruments.
• Collect, analyze, and document measurement data to support development decisions.
• Summarize and present findings clearly to engineering teams and external technology partners.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, and systems engineering.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient lab environment, identifying and implementing improvements as needed.
• Work with and manage vendor relationships.

• Experience with oscilloscopes, test planning, troubleshooting, data analysis, and prototyping.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, and Soundcheck.
• Hands-on experience with Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) Microphones.
• Understanding of audio electronics and signal paths.
• Experience with digital oscilloscopes, audio analyzers, multimeters, and signal generators.
• Strong communication and documentation skills with both internal teams and external vendors.

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Acoustics, Audio Technology, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience in automation, scripting, signal processing, acoustics, laboratory work, and R&D engineering.
• Knowledge of spatial audio technologies.

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $180000.00/yr.
