Job Description
This role offers an architectural designer the opportunity to lead the design and drafting of architectural plans, wall sections, schedules, and code analysis for a variety of projects, with a strong focus on a major national retail account. You will work extensively in Revit, manage multiple project types, and interact directly with clients to deliver high-quality, well-coordinated construction documents. The ideal candidate is a registered architect who can manage projects and clients independently and is comfortable taking responsibility for signing and sealing drawings.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive code analysis to ensure all designs comply with applicable building codes and regulations.
- Prepare detailed architectural plans and associated details for commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
- Develop architectural sections and wall sections that clearly communicate design intent and construction requirements.
- Coordinate project requirements with internal team members and external stakeholders to maintain alignment on scope, schedule, and deliverables.
- Provide guidance and assistance to team members to help complete required tasks and maintain project quality standards.
- Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files, and project-related information in a logical and well-structured manner.
- Conduct field surveys and document existing conditions, then translate findings into accurate plans and sections.
- Utilize Revit daily to develop, update, and manage building information models for active projects.
- Interface directly with clients to discuss project goals, present design solutions, and address questions or concerns.
- Manage projects from design through documentation, helping to ensure that schedules and quality expectations are met.
- If registered, take responsibility for signing and sealing architectural documents as appropriate.
Essential Skills
- Bachelors of Architecture degree.
- 2 years of professional architectural experience.
- Proven Revit design experience and daily proficiency in Revit.
- Experience in the design of commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.
- Ability to interpret and work with advanced construction documents.
- Strong architectural drafting skills, including preparation of plans, sections, and details.
- Experience with construction documentation and detailing.
Work Environment
You will work in a multi-disciplined firm that provides surveying, building systems engineering, architecture, and site engineering services throughout the East Coast. The position is based primarily in the Lehigh Valley office, with a hybrid work schedule that typically allows up to one day per week working from home, depending on experience level and business needs. You will use Revit and other architectural and CAD tools daily in a professional office setting that emphasizes collaboration across disciplines. The firm offers paid time off, including two weeks of PTO and six paid holidays, and supports a culture of teamwork, technical excellence, and client-focused service.
