Shift Saturday - Wednesday 5:30am to 1:30pm
Job Description
As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for setting eggs in accordance with customer or management specifications. You will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate records, preparing incubation tags, and monitoring temperature and humidity levels of incubation machines.
Responsibilities
- Set eggs according to customer or management specifications.
- Record relevant information on the order sheet, including date, flock number, and quantity.
- Prepare incubation tags for each order.
- Monitor and maintain temperature and humidity levels of incubation machines.
- Candle eggs and pack incubated egg orders as per customer specifications.
- Select appropriate eggs for breeder stock.
- Set eggs for flock replacement and bird sales as required.
- Complete and distribute all required incubation paperwork.
- Input incubation data into appropriate spreadsheets.
- Clean incubators and associated equipment with appropriate solutions.
- Perform weekly fumigation to maintain biosecurity.
- Conduct environmental sampling of incubators and complete associated paperwork.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in quality control and laboratory procedures.
- Strong understanding of biology.
- Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
- Knowledge of PPE usage and aseptic technique.
- Competency in sterile techniques.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) preferred.
- 2 years of work experience, preferably in a processing or poultry farm environment.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Work Environment
The role requires frequent lifting and moving of flats of eggs weighing up to 30 pounds and regularly lifting cases of eggs weighing up to 60 pounds. You must be able to position yourself to access and inspect eggs from various distances within the incubation area. Regular operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer, is required. You should be capable of accurately exchanging information through various technologies and media.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $52000.00/yr.
