Job Title: QC Lab Technician
Job Description
This position reports directly to the QC Supervisor and is primarily responsible for performing analytical testing, laboratory investigations, and analytical method transfers for an OTC drug manufacturing facility. The role involves performing raw material, in-process, and release testing using a variety of analytical techniques.
Responsibilities
- Perform raw material, in-process, and release testing using techniques such as UV-Vis, IR, HPLC, GC, AA, titrations, and viscosity analysis.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge of chromatography and bench chemistry.
- Utilize computer skills with proficiency in Word and Excel, with LIMS experience being an advantage.
- Apply basic statistics and analyze data trends.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, with strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
- Organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
- Participate in training, shadowing team members, and learning SOPs.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Science, preferably in Chemistry.
- Working knowledge of cGMPs as applicable to laboratory environment.
- Proficiency in HPLC and GC techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to verify numbers, words, and alphanumeric combinations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in pharmaceuticals or food & beverage industries.
- Knowledge of wet chemistry, gas chromatography, titration, and ICP.
Work Environment
The laboratory environment specializes in the manufacturing of sunscreen/sun care products, operating within an OTC setting. The role involves collaboration with microbiologists, QC chemists, and other lab technicians. Flexibility with overtime and possible weekend hours is required. The environment adheres to GMP standards and undergoes FDA audits.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ormond Beach, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
