Quality Control Chemist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control Chemist to perform testing and evaluations of raw materials, bulk, and finished products following written procedures. The role involves ensuring compliance with GMP requirements and maintaining accurate documentation records. You will develop an understanding of various testing methodologies and maintain neat and organized work areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and evaluations of raw materials, bulk, and finished products in accordance with written procedures.
• Ensure test results meet current specifications prior to completion and approval.
• Troubleshoot out-of-specification situations and perform batch adjustments as needed.
• Maintain compliance with current regulatory expectations and practices, such as USP.
• Document monthly Key Quality Incidents and out-of-specification situations, determining root causes and suggesting solutions.
• Utilize data to focus improvement efforts, ensuring customer requirements and regulatory regulations are met.
• Understand and maintain a culture of 'lean action' within the department.

Essential Skills

• 4-year degree in Chemistry.
• 0-2 years of quality control industry experience in pharma, cosmetics, or food.
• Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as wet chemistry, FTIR, and quality control.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with solution preparation, wet chemistry titrations, HPLC, GC, and UV is a plus.

Work Environment

This Quality Control Chemist position is based at the Minneapolis site, with hours from Friday to Sunday, working 12-hour shifts. This weekend schedule totals 36 hours, with potential opportunities for full 40-hour work weeks depending on sample and workload availability. The role requires working independently overnight, with a counterpart available at the other facility. The position involves moderate to high physical activity and exposure to various fragrances indoors. Candidates should be able to respond and adapt to changes in the work environment and work in a high-paced environment. Benefits include accruable PTO, holiday pay, and sick pay.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
