Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, compassionate care to residents with complex medical and behavioral needs in various healthcare settings. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to promote wellness, prevent illness, and manage chronic conditions.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 24-hour skilled nursing care for residents with intensive medical needs.

Perform daily assessments, monitor conditions, and implement nursing interventions.

Support residents with behavioral or developmental challenges through specialized care and behavioral resources.

Maintain ongoing communication with families, community partners, and external professionals involved in resident care.

Collaborate with outside agencies, including DDS, healthcare providers, and behavioral health professionals.

Ensure a safe, stable, and supportive environment for all residents.
Resident Care Needs May Include:
Medical:
-
Insulin management, gastrostomy, tracheostomy, ileostomy care
-
Renal dialysis, complex medication regimens, catheter care
-
Wound care, suctioning, oxygen/ventilator support
-
IV medications, injections, pain management, palliative and postoperative care
-
Nutritional/dietary restrictions, visual/hearing impairments
Behavioral/Developmental:
-
Self-injury, biting, head banging, physical/verbal aggression
-
Elopement risk, PICA, property destruction, inappropriate sexual behaviors
-
Impulse control disorders, acute mental health needs (e.g., suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder)

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and severe cognitive impairments requiring total support

Qualifications
Qualifications:

Licensure: Valid RN license in the state of practice

Education: BSN preferred; ADN required

Experience: Clinical or hospital experience preferred

Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred

Excellent verbal and written communication

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
