Position Summary
The Director of Behavioral Health Supported Living Services is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and supervision of community-based behavioral health programs including Supported Living Services (SLS), Independent Living Skills (ILS), Respite Services, and Day Programs. The Director ensures programs operate in compliance with state and federal regulations while promoting recovery, independence, and community integration for individuals with behavioral health and developmental needs.
This position oversees program development, staff supervision, service quality, regulatory compliance, and financial performance while ensuring person-centered services that support clients in achieving their individualized goals.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership and Oversight

Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for SLS, ILS, Respite, and Day Programs.

Ensure all services align with person-centered planning, recovery-oriented practices, and community integration.

Develop, implement, and monitor program policies and procedures.

Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations, Medicaid waiver requirements, and behavioral health standards.

Monitor program performance metrics and service outcomes.
Staff Management and Supervision

Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate program managers, supervisors, and direct support staff.

Ensure staff maintain required certifications and training (CPR, First Aid, CPI, etc.).

Provide leadership development and coaching to program supervisors.

Ensure adequate staffing levels for all services.

Promote a culture of professionalism, safety, and client-centered care.
Clinical and Service Quality Oversight

Ensure services are delivered in accordance with individualized service plans.

Monitor quality of care and client satisfaction.

Collaborate with clinicians, case managers, and care teams to support client outcomes.

Oversee incident reporting, risk management, and corrective action processes.
Regulatory Compliance

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards including:

Prepare for and participate in audits, inspections, and licensing reviews.
Financial and Operational Management

Develop and manage program budgets.

Community and Stakeholder Collaboration

Build and maintain relationships with community partners, referral agencies, and service providers.

Qualifications
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioral Health, Human Services, or related field required

Master’s degree preferred
Experience

Minimum 5 years experience in behavioral health, developmental services, or community-based support programs

Minimum 3 years leadership or supervisory experience

Experience managing SLS, ILS, day programs, or similar services preferred
