Job Summary – Personal Support Instructor/ Direct Care Staff (PSI/DCS)
The Personal Support Instructor/Direct Care Staff (PSI/DCS) provides care, supervision, and behavioral support to individuals with developmental disabilities. This role focuses on maintaining safety, supporting routines, monitoring needs, and ensuring documentation and household stability while individuals sleep. The PSI/DCS promotes a calm, structured environment in alignment with each person’s Individual Support Plan (ISP).
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor individuals throughout the night to ensure health, safety, and emotional well-being

Assist with evening/bedtime routines and early-morning tasks as needed

Respond to needs such as hygiene support, behavioral concerns, sleep disturbances, or medical situations

Implement ISP goals and behavior strategies appropriate to overnight hours

Complete required documentation, incident reports, and nightly logs

Conduct routine household tasks such as light cleaning, restocking supplies, and preparing for morning staff transition

Administer medications (including bedtime and morning doses) and document in the Medication Administration Record (MAR)

Maintain a calm, supportive, and safe environment at all times

Provide 24-hour emergency support coverage as needed

Qualifications:
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Clean driving record, valid CA Driver’s License, and current auto insurance

1–3 years of direct support or caregiving experience preferred

Ability to stay alert, responsive, and proactive throughout overnight shifts

Strong documentation, observation, and time-management skills
