Maintenance Technician – Food Manufacturing
Location: West Baltimore, MD
Pay Rate: $30.00–$40.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Position Overview
As the Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of manufacturing and packaging equipment within a high-speed food production environment. The role focuses on preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance to support production targets, reduce downtime, and maintain strict food safety standards.
You will develop a deep understanding of plant equipment, processes, and systems, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance and reliability..
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment.
- Inspect, lubricate, clean, and service components including chains, sprockets, bearings, motors, gearboxes, and related mechanisms.
- Respond to maintenance work orders, troubleshoot equipment failures, and complete repairs efficiently and accurately.
- Disassemble machinery for maintenance or repair and reassemble to operational standards.
- Test, adjust, calibrate, and verify equipment performance to ensure optimal operation and product quality.
- Create, refine, and improve preventive maintenance task lists and maintenance frequencies.
- Maintain accurate documentation and provide feedback on completed work orders.
- Recommend improvements to maintenance methods, reliability, and equipment performance.
- Operate hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and computer-based systems to perform maintenance tasks.
- Follow all safety protocols including job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout procedures, and proper use of PPE.
- Support food safety, sanitation, and quality requirements in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Collaborate effectively with operations, maintenance leadership, and cross-functional teams.
What We Are Looking For:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree or Technical Certification preferred.
- 3–5 years of maintenance experience in food manufacturing or a similar industrial environment preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn technical terminology.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and multiple shifts as required.
- Experience or exposure to TPM, RCM, PLCs, sanitary welding, machine shop practices, electrical construction, or ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
