Job Summary:
We’re looking for a seasoned Facilities Manager who thrives in hands-on settings and takes ownership of the daily operations, maintenance, and safety of our facilities. This position requires a strong working knowledge of building systems and equipment, along with a proactive mindset to create and maintain a safe, functional, and efficient workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and/or personally handle regular maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting.
- Lead, manage, or collaborate with maintenance staff and contractors, ensuring they’re properly trained, supported, and equipped to carry out facility upkeep.
- As Facilities Manager, plan, organize, and coordinate operations, maintenance activities, and building improvement projects.
Duties Include:
- Respond promptly to urgent facility-related issues such as power outages, water leaks, or equipment failures with hands-on troubleshooting and resolution.
- Research and develop cost estimates for facility-related projects, including labor, materials, and equipment needs.
- Conduct or coordinate regular inspections of the entire facility to identify repair needs, safety concerns, or upgrade opportunities.
- Approve and oversee maintenance work, repairs, installations, and renovation projects.
- Manage construction and remodeling projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, codes, and design standards.
- Maintain comprehensive records of facility use, maintenance activities, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure all safety standards are implemented and facilities meet local, state, and federal codes (including OSHA, fire safety, and emergency procedures).
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure facility-related concerns are addressed quickly and efficiently.
- Maintain documentation related to construction, design, and maintenance.
- Control and distribute access to buildings and mechanical rooms through keys or other entry systems.
- Assist with the preparation of annual and project-based facilities budgets, focusing on cost efficiency and preventative maintenance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues without excessive reliance on outside contractors.
- Hands-on skills in a range of building systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
- Strong technical knowledge of high-voltage systems, HVAC units, and general building operations.
- Solid understanding of facilities management principles, preventive maintenance programs, and operational best practices.
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing large-scale projects and working with vendors or external contractors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to manage cross-functional relationships.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks or projects effectively.
- Working knowledge of building design, construction, and infrastructure to ensure proper upkeep and function.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of related facilities management experience required.
- Prior leadership experience managing a facilities team is essential.
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Capable of accessing all areas of the facility, both indoors and outdoors.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds when required.
- Must be able to work in varying weather conditions and navigate the entire facility as needed.
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
