Job Summary
The Quality Engineer ensures products (acrylics, epoxies, silicones, urethanes, conductive inks) meet strict quality and customer standards. This role develops and maintains quality control processes, conducts root cause analyses, and drives continuous improvement, collaborating with cross-functional teams to uphold high-quality material delivery to OEMs.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Control
- Implement quality control processes per ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer standards.
- Inspect and test raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods (e.g., potting compounds, conductive adhesives).
- Track quality metrics and generate performance reports.
Problem Resolution:
- Investigate defects or complaints using tools like 8D, Fishbone, or 5 Whys.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Document findings and update quality systems.
Process Improvement:
- Optimize production processes with manufacturing, R&D, and engineering teams.
- Define quality requirements for new products (e.g., UV-cure adhesives, conductive inks).
- Drive improvements using PDCA and Lean/Six Sigma.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with regulations, safety standards, and quality policies.
- Maintain documentation (e.g., test reports, SOPs) and support audits.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Experience:
- 2-5 years in quality engineering, ideally in chemical manufacturing or adhesives.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949.
- Experience with adhesives or conductive materials is a plus.
Skills:
- Proficient in quality tools (SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with chemical testing (e.g., viscosity, conductivity) preferred.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, quality software; ERP experience a plus.
Certifications:
- Six Sigma Green Belt or CQE desirable.
Physical Requirements
- Work in manufacturing settings, including standing, walking, lifting (up to 25 lbs).
- Handle chemicals safely, using PPE as required.
Salary : $70,000 - $85,000
