Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Structured Cabling Lead Technician located in Houston, TX. The Lead Technician will oversee and execute the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of structured cabling systems. Responsibilities include managing installation teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards, conducting quality assurance checks, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with clients to meet their specific connectivity and cabling needs.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Ability to interpret blueprints, floor plans, and schematic diagrams
- Experience with testing equipment and tools used for cable installation and certification
- Familiarity with networking systems, fiber optics, and industry standards such as TIA/EIA
- Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to oversee installation teams
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with clients and team members
- Physical ability to handle cabling tasks, including climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and lifting heavy equipment
- Certifications such as BICSI Technician or equivalent are a plus
- Relevant experience with fire, security, and VoIP systems is considered advantageous
