Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Low Voltage Technician to spearhead our low voltage systems installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting efforts. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of skilled technicians, oversee complex projects, and ensure the seamless operation of audio, communication, and surveillance systems across various sites. Your expertise in cabling, and system design will drive the success of our low voltage infrastructure initiatives. This position may boast all expense paid travel across the nation when preforming rollouts.
Duties
- Lead and coordinate the installation, testing, and maintenance of low voltage systems including CCTV, and telecommunication networks.
- Supervise field service activities, ensuring all work adheres to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and project specifications.
- Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute system designs and troubleshoot issues efficiently.
- Manage cabling installations using power tools and hand tools while ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Conduct system design assessments to optimize security solutions such as surveillance coverage, sensor placement, and remote access configurations.
- Collaborate with construction teams during building phases to integrate low voltage infrastructure seamlessly into new or existing structures.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on computer networking, hardware setup, and system integration.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, service reports, schematics updates, and incident logs for compliance and future reference.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician specializing in low voltage systems such as CCTV, sensors, or telecommunication networks. Certification is a plus but not needed.
- Strong electrical background with knowledge of NEC standards and electrical wiring practices.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals related to low voltage systems.
- Hands-on experience with cabling techniques using power tools and hand tools in construction or retrofit environments.
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts including switches, routers, remote access software, and system design principles.
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment installation and troubleshooting within security or surveillance systems.
- Ability to lead a team effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills for client interactions.
