- Help elevate safety communication and awareness across the organization by sharing trends, lessons learned, and proactive risk-related messaging following incidents or emerging issues.
- Partner with safety leadership and third-party providers to support safety training initiatives, vendor-led programs, and recurring safety events or summits.
- Lead the administration and oversight of the company’s business insurance programs, including auto, general liability, workers’ compensation, and related coverage areas.
- Serve as the internal owner for claims management, partnering closely with third-party administrators, brokers, carriers, legal counsel, and business leaders to ensure claims are effectively tracked, managed, and resolved.
- Partner with business units and field leadership on incident response, claims follow-up, root-cause awareness, and risk mitigation efforts across a decentralized operating environment.
- Support litigation and dispute-related matters by coordinating with outside legal counsel on claims, mediations, documentation, and related risk issues.
- Build stronger enterprise visibility into claims, safety, and risk trends through improved reporting, dashboards, KPI tracking, and leadership-facing insights.
- Lead and support insurance renewal activities, including program review, data gathering, premium discussions, broker engagement, and recommendations tied to overall risk and claims performance.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in safety, risk, claims, and insurance program management within a complex business environment.
- In-house experience managing risk, claims, and insurance programs within an operating business environment, with the ability to partner across operations, safety, finance, legal, brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators.
- Experience in a service-based, distributed, route-based, multi-site, or otherwise operationally decentralized organization is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with self-insured business models and the relationship between claims, deductibles, safety standards, and insurance program performance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage claims processes, work with third-party administrators, and coordinate with legal counsel on claims-related matters.
- Ability to influence safety culture through strong communication, cross-functional partnership, and engagement with field and business-unit leaders.
- Strong soft skills and business partnership ability, including the credibility to work with multiple stakeholders and avoid being purely desk-bound in approach.
