Role Overview
We are hiring a Business Development Manager to lead a focused outbound campaign targeting the Los Angeles market. This is an internal role working at AccountMakers.
This is a 90-day contract role with potential for permanent hire based on individual performance and overall business needs. Expansion into additional markets will follow the initial campaign based on results.
You will own outreach to a defined list of approximately 6,100 contacts, engaging decision-makers, introducing AccountMakers, and driving employers to post roles and adopt the platform.
This is a fully remote, hourly role. Candidates aligned with Pacific time are preferred to match prospect availability but not required for well qualified applicants with strong records of success, work ethic and motivation.
What You’ll Own
- Execute daily outbound calling against a high-value, targeted prospect list
- Drive new employer sign-ups and job postings
- Position AccountMakers as a faster, more cost-effective hiring solution
- Build momentum through consistent follow-up and multi-touch outreach
- Turn conversations into action and measurable pipeline
- Support the success of newly signed employers by guiding initial usage, encouraging job postings, and helping ensure a strong first experience on the platform
Activity & Performance Expectations
- 70 connect calls per day (to prospects & clients), sustained consistently with quality
- 4 to 5 hours of live talk time daily
- 10 to 15 meaningful conversations per day with decision-makers
- Daily follow-up across all active prospects who are strong prospects
- Weekly targets tied to employer sign-ups and job postings
What You Bring
- 1 to 10 years of phone sales or business development experience.
- Proven ability to meet and exceed call activity and conversion targets
- Strong, confident phone presence with the ability to quickly build trust and credibility
- Skilled at handling objections and advancing conversations to clear next steps
- Highly organized with disciplined follow-up and pipeline management habits
- Comfortable working independently in a remote, performance-driven environment
- Ability to engage prospects, generate interest, and drive action
- Motivated to contribute to building a brand, growing a client pipeline, and advancing your career
- Strong work ethic with a drive to perform, make an impact, and be part of a scaling team
Bonus Experience
- Staffing, recruiting, HR, technology or startup sales a plus but not required
- Familiarity with the Los Angeles business market
Compensation & Structure
- Starting hourly paid contract role (90 days) at $35 to $40 per hour, plus benefits and a tiered placement bonus plan
- Tiered Placement Bonus (Contract Role):
- 1 to 2 placements per month: $100 per temporary placement, $250 per permanent placement
- 3 to 5 placements per month: $125 per temporary placement, $250 per permanent placement
- 6 placements per month: $150 per temporary placement, $300 per permanent placement
- Potential for permanent hire based on performance and business needs
- Fully remote within the United States
- PST hours preferred
