Pay Range: $18.00-$25.00 per hour, based on previous medical billing experience

Access Family Care is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in Neosho, Missouri. This full-time, in-office position is responsible for ensuring accurate claim submission, payment posting, insurance follow-up, and overall revenue cycle support. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of medical billing processes, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to supporting quality patient care.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Submit and process insurance claims accurately and timely.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Review claims for accuracy and resolve billing errors.
- Follow up on denied, rejected, or unpaid claims.
- Post insurance and patient payments accurately.
- Maintain accurate patient billing records within the EHR system.
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and reimbursement.
- Assist patients with billing questions and payment inquiries.
- Reconcile accounts and assist with accounts receivable management.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare billing regulations.
- Work collaboratively with clinic staff to resolve billing and documentation issues.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous medical billing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing processes.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR/EMR) systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Medical coding knowledge is a plus.
