Position Summary
The Certified Application Counselor (CAC) helps patients and community members understand and enroll in health coverage options, including Marketplace plans, Medicaid, and other assistance programs. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for helping individuals navigate complex systems.
Key Responsibilities
Provide unbiased, accurate information about health insurance options
Assist patients with completing Marketplace and Medicaid applications
Maintain required CAC certification and ongoing training
Conduct outreach and education to individuals and families
Protect patient privacy and comply with all federal and organizational guidelines
Document interactions and maintain accurate records
Collaborate with clinic staff to support patient access to care
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Must obtain and maintain Certified Application Counselor (CAC) certification (training provided if needed)
Experience in healthcare, social services, or customer service preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to explain complex information clearly
Proficiency with computers and online application systems
Commitment to patient-centered service and confidentiality
Proficient in Spanish/English
Work Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday
8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
