Job Summary:
The Grounds Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the appearance and condition of the company's outdoor areas. This includes landscaping, lawn care, seasonal clean-up, minor exterior repairs, and ensuring that all grounds are safe, clean, and visually appealing.
Key Responsibilities: The Grounds Maintenance Worker tasks are as follows (but not limited to)
- Mow lawns, trim hedges, and edge walkways and curbs.
- Plant, water, fertilize, prune, and maintain flowers, shrubs, trees, and grass.
- Rake leaves, remove debris, and perform seasonal tasks like snow and ice removal.
- Maintain and operate hand tools and power equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, and chainsaws.
- Inspect grounds and report safety hazards or damages to equipment or infrastructure.
- Assist with irrigation system maintenance and basic exterior repairs (e.g., fences, signage, walkways).
- Ensure grounds comply with environmental, safety, and cleanliness standards.
- Monitor supply inventory and notify supervisor when materials or equipment are needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in groundskeeping or landscaping is a plus.
- Ability to operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment.
- Good physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of horticulture, irrigation systems, and outdoor maintenance.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or in a team.
- Ability to lift to 25 lbs.
- Dexterity – A Full range of motion of hands and fingers is necessary
- Ability to work on a computer for an extended period
