Job Summary: Business Development will be responsible for leading and managing the capture process in the government contracting sector for new business opportunities. Responsible for developing comprehensive plans to win new contracts in the telecommunications and construction sectors. This role oversees the entire capture process, including competitor analysis, solution development, and proposal preparation, ensuring the successful submission of competitive proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Opportunity Identification: Identify and qualify new business opportunities in the telecommunications and construction markets.
- Capture Strategy Development: Develop and implement capture strategies to win new contracts, including competitive analysis, win themes, and value propositions.
- Proposal Management: Lead the proposal development process, including writing, editing, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant submissions.
- Team Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, estimators, and other team members to gather necessary information and resources for proposals.
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to understand their needs and position the company as a preferred contractor.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and potential opportunities.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with capture efforts and proposal submissions.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on the progress of capture activities, including win/loss analysis and lessons learned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in capture management, business development, or a related role in the telecommunications and/or construction industries.
- Experience: Experience working in the government contracting sector
- Skills:
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and proposal management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as PMP, APMP, or equivalent are a plus.
