We’re partnering with a highly respected, referral-driven residential design-build firm with 20 years of success to identify a senior-level Residential Designer who can lead projects at the intersection of architecture, construction, and client experience.
This is a visible, client-facing role where you’ll own projects from concept through execution—combining creative design, technical expertise, and real-world constructability in a collaborative, non-corporate environment.
🔹 The Opportunity
This role offers true end-to-end ownership within a design-build model—ideal for someone who wants to see their designs fully realized while working closely with clients, trades, and internal teams.
You will:
- Lead conceptual design, floor plans, and elevations across remodels and select custom homes
- Own full project delivery including drawings, specifications, and estimating alignment
- Partner cross-functionally with interior designers, structural designers, and trade partners
- Serve as a primary client contact, guiding decisions and presenting design solutions
- Ensure designs align with code compliance, constructability, and budget expectations
🔹 Project Scope
- Residential remodels: kitchens, baths, lower levels, master suites
- Structural projects: additions, layout changes
- Select custom home projects
- Localized work across Waukesha County
🔹 What They’re Looking For
Must-Have
- 10–15 years of residential design and/or construction experience
- Strong proficiency with Chief Architect, CAD tools, or similar platforms
- Proven ability to produce full construction documents and specifications
- Deep understanding of residential building methods, materials, and codes
- Experience in client-facing roles, presenting and guiding design direction
- Ability to manage multiple projects end-to-end with an ownership mindset
Preferred
- Background in a design-build environment
- Experience with estimating and cost alignment
- Exposure to custom homes and structural design work
- Prior mentorship or leadership experience
