About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Die Setter to expertly manage press operations and ensure the consistent production of high-quality components. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in mechanical presses, tooling adjustments, and quality control to optimize manufacturing processes and uphold stringent quality standards. Your proficiency in blueprint reading and GD&T will be essential for maintaining precision and accuracy.
Responsibilities- Set up and adjust dies on mechanical/pneumatic presses, particularly Cincinnati 550-ton presses, to meet production specifications.
- Conduct regular quality inspections using tools like micrometers, hardness testers, and CMM to verify dimensional accuracy and material integrity.
- Maintain detailed production records, tracking output, scrap, and any process adjustments made during the shift.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to equipment malfunctions or defects, escalating complex problems as needed.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment through consistent 5S practices.
- Perform preventative maintenance on presses and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Required Skills
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Experience with quality inspection tools, including micrometers, hardness testers, and CMM.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
Preferred Skills
- 5 years of experience in powder metal compacting.
- Manufacturing experience in metal forging.
- Familiarity with the metallurgical properties of ferrous/non-ferrous powders and forgings.
- Knowledge of forging presses, die setup, material flow, and robot operation.
