Endoscopy Nurse

Job Title: Registered Nurse – Endoscopy

Location: Chicago, IL

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Shift: 4x10 Days (approximately 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM), Monday–Friday with one weekday off

Employment Type: Contract (Travel or Local)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Registered Nurse to join a high-performing perioperative team. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical competency, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work effectively in Pre-Op, Procedure, and Recovery areas. This position offers a consistent weekday schedule with no weekends or on-call requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing endoscopy procedures
• Conduct Pre-Op assessments and prepare patients for procedures
• Administer and recover patients from moderate sedation
• Monitor and manage patient condition during post-procedure recovery
• Insert peripheral IVs with proficiency
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Follow all facility policies, clinical protocols, and infection control standards
• Float to other departments within scope of practice as needed

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years recent perioperative or endoscopy nursing experience
• Certifications:
• BLS (required)
• ACLS (required)

Skills:

• Moderate sedation administration and recovery
• IV insertion competency
• Experience in both Pre-Op and Recovery
• License: Active Illinois RN license required at the time of submission
• Travel Experience: Not required
• Local Candidates: Accepted

Additional Details

• Weekday schedule only; no weekends and no call
• Maximum of five days RTO allowed (no more than two consecutive days; no holiday or weekend RTO)
• Mandatory ability to float within the system as needed
