Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our clinical team on a 13-week assignment in Oregon. This is a Monday–Friday, day-shift role with no weekends or on-call requirements, offering a balanced and consistent schedule. The ideal candidate will bring clinical expertise, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to support daily dental operations efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance to providers, residents, and dental students during procedures.
- Prepare, maintain, disinfect, and break down treatment rooms and surgical suites.
- Perform 4-handed and 6-handed dentistry, suctioning, tissue retraction, and instrument passing.
- Take dental radiographs and ensure compliance with radiographic safety standards.
- Complete operatory tray setups, sterilize instruments, and maintain aseptic technique.
- Record patient history, vitals, treatment plans, and assist with documentation.
- Communicate post-operative instructions and support patient education.
- Maintain supply inventory, equipment care, and assist with ordering as needed.
- Collaborate with schedulers, billing staff, sterilization techs & other dental support teams.
- Provide guidance and training to dental students when assigned, reinforcing clinical best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Dental Assistant training program OR minimum one year chairside dental assisting experience.
- Radiographic Proficiency certification (Oregon requirement).
- Current BLS certification from an approved vendor.
- Experience in dental instrument sterilization and radiograph exposure.
- Ability to stand, move, lift, and engage in repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience in advanced or specialty dental assisting.
- EFDA, EFODA, DAANCE, anesthesia, or surgical assisting certifications (preferred).
- Experience mentoring or assisting dental students in clinical settings.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and patient-care communication skills.
Work Schedule & Contract Details
- Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- No weekends | No call | Minimal floating
- Clinical support will be provided across departments based on operational needs.
