Tax Lead

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Tax Lead with 7 years of public accounting experience to lead tax engagements, manage client relationships, review complex tax returns, and mentor staff. The ideal candidate will have an active CPA license, strong expertise in tax planning, compliance, and preparation, and extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and review complex tax returns for Corporations, Partnerships, Individuals, Trusts, Estates, and Private Foundations.
• Lead tax planning, compliance, and preparation engagements while ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Supervise, mentor, and train tax professionals, providing technical guidance and performance support.
• Research and interpret federal, state, and local tax laws to resolve complex tax matters.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while delivering high-quality tax advisory services.
• Oversee multiple engagements, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
• Utilize tax and accounting software to improve efficiency and ensure accurate reporting.
• Collaborate with firm leadership on client strategies, process improvements, and business development initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• 7 years of public accounting experience.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Tax Manager.
• 2 years of experience in Managing and Training Team Members in Public Accounting firm
• Active CPA license is required.
• Strong hands-on experience in:

1. Tax planning
2. Tax compliance
3. Tax preparation

• Strong knowledge of:

1. Federal tax laws
2. State tax laws
3. Local tax laws

• Experience reviewing tax returns for:

1. Corporations
2. Partnerships
3. Individuals
4. Trusts
5. Estates
6. Private Foundation

• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Proficiency with tax software and related accounting software.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
