The Dallas Communications Center has an immediate opening for a Dispatch Operations Supervisor. This position may be assigned to either a day or night shift.
JOB SUMMARY: Coordinate and oversee daily operations of the Communications Center efficiently, utilizing resources necessary to meet system demands and responsibilities.

Direct activities of emergency medical dispatchers
Monitor performance of the EMD's
Maintain level of professionalism within the communications center
Produce necessary reports to monitor communications center activities
Monitor system resources during peak load times
Handle patient/client inquiries
Handle administrative calls after hours
Coordinate helicopter I fixed wing activities
Coordinate mass casualty incidents
Handle news media
Investigate and critique operational issues; errors, etc.
Delegate operations issues to VPO's
Coordinate swing department after-hours
Coordinate safety/hazmat issues of ground & air responses
Coordinate Argus alarms after hours
Handle AOCILifeline alarms
Critique delayed responses to emergencies
Maintain safe and clean work environment
Provide daily verbal reports to VPO's
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED
Knowledge of standard operating procedures for ambulance dispatch, medical protocols, alarm system policies & procedures, and computer and phone use. Typing skills and geographical knowledge of certain areas.
Minimum of two years EMS dispatching experience
EMT/EMT-P certification preferred
NAEMD and CPR certification required
ACES management training certification is considered a plus
Alternate Supervisor of Communication Center
