Summer Intern

Summary

The Summer Internship is a unique opportunity Academy Bank provides for an individual to experience the inner workings of a National Bank while completing a college degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Data Science or related discipline. Successful candidates are self-motivated, love to learn, and thrive in a professional environment. They will complete work within the assigned department, receive formal professional training on topics like personal brand, professional communications, mastering interviewing skills, and more. Summer Interns also will help us solve real world problems by completing a research project that focuses on solving a business problem, culminating in a presentation to the Banks’ senior officers. Summer Interns will be evaluated for future, full-time employment after graduation at the bank’s Kansas City headquarters.

General

• Term of Internship: 8 weeks starting the first week of June and ending the last week of July, with potential for an additional two to three weeks during winter break if needed and approved by eligible department
• Full-time, 32-hour work week
• Monday through Thursday schedule (9:00 to 5:00 or 8:30 to 4:30), excluding the Juneteenth and Independence Day paid holidays.
• $16/hour
• All interns will perform real work in the assigned department, research and present on a real-work issue facing the banking industry and participate in a professionalism series that focuses on skills necessary to succeed in a professional environment, such as communication, etiquette, personal branding, and interviewing skills.
