Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Blade Operator specializing in grading and excavation using GPS technology to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will operate heavy machinery with precision, ensuring accurate grading and excavation work that meets project specifications. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of construction projects, emphasizing safety, efficiency, and quality. We are also looking for manual equipment operators for skid steer, Blade and excavator.
Responsibilities
- Operate blade equipment, including bulldozers and graders equipped with GPS systems, to perform precise grading and excavation tasks.
- Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on construction machinery, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to equipment safety procedures.
- Utilize utility locating tools to identify underground utilities before excavation, preventing damage and ensuring safety compliance.
- Follow federal construction safety regulations and site-specific safety protocols at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with project managers, surveyors, and other team members to interpret construction plans and execute grading accordingly.
- Perform excavations for utilities, foundations, or roadways while maintaining accurate grade levels using GPS-guided systems.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and site progress for project documentation.
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as bulldozers, graders, excavators, backhoes, and loaders in a construction environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with GPS-based grading systems and utility locating techniques is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures is essential.
- Prior experience working on construction sites involving utility work, excavation, and grading projects.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial truck driving is preferred.
- Construction experience emphasizing site preparation, utility installation, or heavy equipment operation is highly valued.
