Job Overview
Abundant Life World Ministries is a growing, Spirit-filled congregation in Austell, GA, committed to the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are seeking a dedicated Church Administrator to serve as the operational leader of our church, empowering our Senior Pastor to focus fully on preaching, teaching, and spiritual leadership.
Position Summary
The Church Administrator serves as the chief operations officer of the church. This individual oversees the day-to-day administrative, financial, and organizational functions of the ministry, ensuring that everything runs with excellence, integrity, and in alignment with the church’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
Administration & Operations
- Oversee daily church office operations(Remote) and serve as the primary point of contact for staff, members, and visitors
- Manage church calendar, facility scheduling, and event coordination
- Maintain church records, membership databases, and official documents
- Develop and implement administrative policies and procedures
Financial Management
- Prepare and manage the annual church budget in collaboration with the pastor and finance team
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to church leadership
- Coordinate with external accountants or auditors as needed
- Oversee tithes and offerings processing with proper accountability controls
Human Resources
- Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and managing church staff and volunteers
- Maintain personnel files and ensure compliance with employment laws
- Coordinate staff schedules, reviews, and team development
Facilities Management
- Oversee maintenance, repairs, and cleanliness of church facilities
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships
- Ensure the facility is safe, functional, and welcoming
Communications & Technology
- Oversee church communications — bulletins, newsletters, emails, and social media coordination
- Manage the church website and online giving platforms
- Ensure the church’s technology infrastructure (AV, software, internet) is current and functional
Pastoral Support
- Shield the pastor from operational distractions so he can focus on ministry
- Attend leadership meetings and assist in executing the pastor’s vision
- Serve as a liaison between the pastor and ministry leaders/departments
Qualifications
Required
- Committed follower of Jesus Christ with an active faith life
- Active membership or willingness to join Abundant Life World Ministries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in administration, operations, or management
- Strong financial literacy and experience managing budgets
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and church management software (e.g., Planning Center, Breeze, Church Community Builder)
Preferred
- Experience in a church or nonprofit setting
- Familiarity with Georgia nonprofit compliance requirements
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
