This role requires strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of responsiveness and care.
Position Details:
- Status: Hybrid, Full-Time (approx. 35 hours/week)
- Salary: $35,000- $38,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
- Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, pension and dental coverage
- Total Compensation: Approximately $50,000-$55,000 depending on benefit elections
- Reports to: Head of Staff
Core Responsibilities
Communications & Information Management
- Serve as the primary coordinator of all church communications across platforms, including:
- Weekly eNews and church-wide emails
- Website and social media updates
- Printed materials and congregational correspondence
- Church calendar and event communications
- Support coordination of church-wide efforts and communications strategy
- Manage and maintain the master calendar, coordinating all events and communications
- Monitor the general church email inbox, forwarding inquiries as appropriate
- Monitor and engage with communications, events, and calendars from the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta to ensure alignment, awareness, and timely sharing of relevant information with staff and congregation
- Collaborate with staff and ministry leaders to gather and disseminate information
Administrative & Office Operations
- Serve as a steady, reliable presence who helps the church operate smoothly and communicates with clarity and care
- Create and maintain a welcoming, organized, and professional office environment
- Greet visitors and provide radical hospitality to members and guests
- Act as a point of connection between the local community and church leadership, facilitating communication, coordination, and responsiveness
- Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and direct communication appropriately
- Maintain office supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships
- Provide administrative support to pastors, staff, Session, Deacons, and ministry teams
- Prepare materials for worship services (bulletins, inserts, attendance pads, etc.)
- Assist with special projects, events, and seasonal initiatives
Data & Records Management
- Maintain and manage the church database (One Church)
- Track and update records for:
- Visitors and guests
- Members and active participants
- Attendance and engagement
- Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of all church records
- Maintain both physical and digital filing systems in an organized and secure manner
- Maintain and organize church policies, procedures, and operational documents
- Ensure compliance with established administrative and data practices
Financial & Operational Support
- Assist with basic financial administration:
- Processing invoices and receipts
- Supporting contribution records and donor acknowledgments
- Maintaining files for deposits and expenditures
- Collaborate with Finance and Stewardship teams as needed
- Support preparation of reports, including the annual report
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- 2–3 years of administrative, office management, or communications experience
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Proficiency in:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar)
- Social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram)
- Ability to learn and manage church management systems (e.g., One Church)
- Comfort with email marketing tools and website platforms
