What You’ll Do
As our Activities Director, you’ll be the heartbeat of our facility's social life and our primary storyteller. You will lead a passionate team to design daily programming and share those joyful moments with the world.
- Innovate & Inspire: Bring fresh, fun, and unique activities to our monthly calendar—whether it's introducing a new tech class, organizing a themed pop-up diner, booking local musicians, or planning interactive sensory experiences.
- Share the Joy: Capture the magic of our daily life! You will manage our social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, etc.), creating warm, engaging, and compliant posts that show families and the community how much fun our residents are having.
- Connect Deeply: Spend time getting to know our residents' unique life stories, hobbies, and passions, tailoring activities to what truly brings them joy.
- Lead with Energy: Champion, train, and inspire a wonderful team of activities assistants and volunteers, keeping the team spirit high.
- Keep Us Compliant: Handle the necessary documentation, progress notes, and care plans with ease, ensuring we always meet New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) guidelines (including resident photo privacy/HIPAA compliance).
- The Creative Spark: Someone who is always thinking outside the box and loves implementing new, modern, and engaging ideas.
- Social Media Savvy: Proficient in creating engaging, heartwarming social media posts, taking great photos, and telling a compelling story online.
- The Heart: A genuinely warm, patient, and compassionate personality. You love spending time with seniors and listening to their stories.
- The Credentials: Qualified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or Activities Professional certified by NCCAP is preferred.
- The Experience: At least 2 years of experience leading activities in a long-term care setting, with a solid understanding of NYS healthcare regulations.
