ABOC looking for a Commercial Lending Officer. This person is responsible for developing and managing commercial lending relationships while delivering tailored financing solutions to meet business client needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interview loan applicants, collect and analyze financial and related data to determine the credit worthiness of the prospect and the merits of the specific loan request.
- Establish and negotiate the terms under which credit will be extended: including interest rates, fees, repayment schedule and collateral required.
- Approve loans up to authorized limit and serve as a contact officer on loans above this limit.
- Reviews the current credit worthiness and merits of existing assigned loans, by direct inspection of the applicant's business and/or collateral review of interim financial reports, personal interview, etc.
- Monitor loan repayment activities of assigned loans and take necessary action to collect on past-dues.
- Attend weekly loan meetings.
- Develop new business by contacting prospects and present customers including cross-selling bank services.
- Source and establish new construction loans.
- Approves overdrafts, uncollected funds, check referrals and sign checks up to authorized limits.
- Make recommendations on improvements or change of policy through chain of command.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial and real estate lending
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
- Attend business functions in the evenings and weekends occasionally
- Microsoft 365 Experience
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
